Apple released its iOS 11 firmware to all users not so long ago. While at this point we are anxiously waiting for an iOS 11 jailbreak, a hacker named Abraham Masri released an iOS 10.2.1 jailbreak for all 64-bit iPhone and iPads. Previously, the Cupertino giant released the iOS 10.2.1 to users in an attempt to kill the Yalu jailbreak in January. The update patched all the vulnerabilities that were necessary for the Yalu jailbreak for iOS 1- – iOS 10.2. So let;s dive in to see some more details on the new Saïgon jailbreak by the hacker.

Hacker Releases Saïgon jailbreak For Supported 64-bit iOS Devices Running iOS 10.2.1

As we have mentioned earlier, Abraham Masri released the Saïgon jailbreak for iOS 10.2.1 for 46-bit iOS devices. However, at this point, if your iOS device is running any firmware higher than iOS 10.2.1 than it might be impossible to downgrade to it. This is because the company stopped signing iOS 10.2.1 in February, locking the doors to any possible downgrade option. Henceforth, if your iOS device is currently running the iOS 10.2.1. only then will you be able to take advantage of the new Saïgon jailbreak.

Saïgon jailbreak supports the following 64-bit iOS devices:

  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus

iOS 10.2.1

So if one of your iOS devices is running iOS 10.2.1 than you can use the Saïgon jailbreak. Do take note that the Saïgon jailbreak ipa is not available so you will have to make use of Xcode in order to create a Saïgon.ipa file. You will have to create a source code from Github to sideload it or you can also use Cydia Impactor to install the ipa on your iPhone or iPad. If the Saïgon.ipa file has been created, you can follow the step by step instructions enlisted below.

  1. The first thing that you need to know is to download the .ipa file and Cydia Impactor.
  2. Now open Cydia Impactor and connect it to your device running iOS 10.2.1.
  3. Now drag the Saïgon.ipa file onto the Cydia Impactor window and enter your Apple ID and Password.
  4. On your device, open Settings General Profiles Device Management
  5. Over here, Trust the new certificate open Saïgon
  6. Now tao on ‘jailbreak’ and that’s it.

Do take note that if the procedure fails, reboot your device and then try again. At this point in time, we would not recommend you to jailbreak your device through Saïgon. This is because the jailbreak is in its alpha stage and is experiencing a lot of issues. We expect that the nature of the Saïgon jailbreak is semi-tethered like the Yalu jailbreak. What this means is that once your iOS device boots, the kernal will no be patched so you would have to re-open the Saïgon app in order to jailbreak your device again.

Kemar Roach is enjoying his return to West Indies’ Test side. After 11 wickets at 29.81 in his comeback series against England, Roach has responded well to the need to alter his lines and lengths on the slower and drier pitches in Bulawayo as West Indies’ senior seamer. His control with the ball was vital to their success in the first Test, and he was equally disciplined in picking up 3 for 44 in the first innings of the second match.

“England obviously has much easier conditions for fast bowling,” Roach said. “Coming here is much harder. You have to be patient and hope the batsman makes a mistake. It’s pretty tough on the mind to be running in for a couple of overs and not beat the bat or cause any problems for the batsmen.”

The road back to Test cricket was a long one for Roach. Sidelined by an ankle injury during the Centurion Test in December 2014, he lost pace and penetration and was left out of the home Tests against India last year. His 23 wickets in the 2016-17 edition of West Indies’ domestic four-day competition prompted a recall, and now Roach is making up for lost time.

“I’ve been working hard in the nets with Roddy Estwick, I think I’m in some good form now and I’m trying to realise that form as much as possible,” Roach said. “I’m not getting any younger now so I’m trying to get as many wickets as I can while I’m in form.

“We had Curtly Ambrose as one of our bowling coaches a few months ago, and he always emphasises a good length and line. I’ve lost some pace, yes, but it’s about using more skill. I’ve been trying to adjust to become better at that.”

Without the pace of old, Roach has been putting some of his newfound skills to good use in Zimbabwe. His use of the crease, delivering the ball from unlikely angles, presentation of the seam and a canny slower ball have all brought success. So has his consistency. “The pitch is very slow and there isn’t much carry, so it’s about being consistent and bowling in the right areas with some variations,” Roach explained.

West Indies trailed Zimbabwe by 248 runs after the second day of the second Test in Bulawayo, but Roach backed his team’s batsmen to solidify their strong position. “There are a lot of runs in that wicket,” he said. “The new ball hasn’t been doing much, no major bounce or seam movement. I think once the guys settle and put their heads down to bat, I think we’ll be fine.”

China signals will again block Indian bid to blacklist militant leader Masood Azhar

BEIJING (Reuters) – China on Monday signalled it would again block an Indian request at the United Nations to blacklist the head of a Pakistan-based militant group because there was no consensus, a move likely to cause recrimination in New Delhi.

India, backed by the United States, has been trying to get Maulana Masood Azhar on a U.N. list of groups with ties to Al Qaeda, blaming his group for a series of attacks in India, including one on its parliament in 2002 and another last year on an airbase.

But China, a member of the U.N. Security Council, has repeatedly put a technical hold on the Indian request, the latest of which is due to end this week.

Such decisions must be based on cast-iron evidence and fully backed by members of the U.N. panel charged with implementing resolutions relating to sanctions on militant groups and individuals, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said.

“China proposed a technical hold, the aim of which was to give more time for the committee members to discuss it and for relevant parties to have further consultations,” Hua told a daily news briefing.

“But regrettably, the committee has yet to reach consensus.”

The wrangling over Masood Azhar, a longtime Indian foe, has become a thorny issue in ties between China and India, which fears Beijing is disregarding its concerns over terrorism.

It has also fuelled worries that China will stick to its “all-weather” friend, India’s arch-foe Pakistan, no matter the weight of evidence against Islamabad.

Pakistan denies giving material support to militants fighting Indian rule in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir besides carrying out attacks elsewhere.

It said it interrogated Azhar and his associates in the Jaish-e-Mohammad group after the January 2016 attack on the Pathankot air base but found no evidence linking him to it.

Hua said there were clear rules for listing a person or group as a terrorist, and that China has always believed the relevant U.N. committee should operate on the principles of objectivity, fairness and professionalism on this matter.

Jaish-e-Mohammad has already been blacklisted by the 15-nation Security Council, but not Azhar, an Islamist hardliner.

Chris Gayle wins defamation case in Australia

Chris Gayle prevailed in his defamation case against Fairfax Media, after a four-person jury in the New South Wales Supreme Court found that there was insufficient evidence to prove he exposed himself to a massage therapist in a Sydney dressing room during the 2015 World Cup.

After deliberating for a little less than two hours, the jury concluded that Fairfax Media – which publishes The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Canberra Times – had not justified its January 2016 report of the allegation on either the basis of truth or of qualified privilege, which weighs up the public interest value of published information and whether or not the media outlet acted reasonably.

The massage therapist who made the allegation, Leanne Russell, testified in court last week that she cried uncontrollably after Gayle pulled down his towel to expose himself while saying “is this what you’re looking for?” during a training session at Drummoyne Oval. Both Gayle and his teammate Dwayne Smith gave evidence denying that the episode took place.

Russell had contacted the sports editor of The Age, Chloe Saltau, to tell her story after she saw the infamous interview of Gayle by the broadcaster Mel McLaughlin in January 2016. Russell also said that the incident with Gayle had followed another, when Smith had sent her a text message saying “sexy” while she had been giving him a massage.

Speaking for Gayle, barrister Bruce McClintock had attacked Russell, saying she had been “bitter” and “vengeful” in targeting Gayle. Russell, who now works as an executive assistant for the AFL, stated in her evidence that she had wanted to take a stand for women in sport. “I was sick of being treated that way,” Russell said in evidence. “I was someone who had forged my career in sport. I would never be as successful as I would be if I was a man.”

Russell had made a verbal complaint at the time to the West Indies team manager Richie Richardson, who had then sent an email to the team requesting them to “please at all times, treat her in a respectable and professional way”. In his evidence, Gayle had insisted the incident “did not happen”.

After the verdict was read out, Gayle spoke of his relief outside court. “I’m a good man,” he said. “I’m not guilty.”

At least 29 dead after Islamist attack on Somali hotel

MOGADISHU (Reuters) – An Islamist attack on a hotel in Mogadishu ended on Sunday after 29 people were killed during a siege lasting nearly 12 hours, police said, prompting the government to sack two top security officials over their failure to stop repeated attacks.

The attack proved once again that insurgents can carry out deadly assaults in the heart of the Somali capital. Twin bombings in Mogadishu two weeks ago killed more than 350 people, the worst such attacks in the country’s history. More than 50 people are still missing.

Islamist militants al Shabaab claimed responsibility for this weekend’s attack, which took place ahead of a planned meeting to try to defuse tensions between the federal government and regional states. Government officials had begun to meet at the hotel to discuss strategy.

“So far I am sure 29 people died – the death toll may rise,” Abdullahi Nur, a police officer, told Reuters.

At least 12 of the dead were police officers, Nur said. A woman was beheaded while her “three children were shot dead”, he said.

A Reuters witness saw seven bodies lying inside the hotel.

Three militants were captured alive and two others blew themselves up after they were shot, police said. Some militants may have disguised themselves and escaped with the residents who were rescued from the hotel, one police officer said.

The attack began around at 5 p.m. on Saturday when a car bomb rammed the gates of Nasahablod Two hotel, which is close to the presidential palace, and destroyed the hotel’s defences. Then gunmen stormed the building.

The explosion destroyed the front of the three-storey hotel and damaged the hotel next door. Many Somali officials live in fortified hotels for the security they offer.

The attack presents a further challenge to the new government of President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, whose defence minister and chief of army staff resigned this month. They did not give their reasons for leaving.

On Sunday, the government sacked the country’s police commander, Abdihakin Dahir Saiid, and the director general of the National Intelligence Security Agency, Abdullahi Mohamed Ali, the prime minister’s office announced.

Abdikadir Abdirahman, director of Amin ambulances, complained the emergency service had been denied access to the blast sight.

”After the hotel operation was over, we wanted to transport the casualties … all entrances of the scene were blocked by security forces.

Al Shabaab said 40 people had been killed, including three of its fighters who stormed the hotel. The government and al Shabaab typically give different figures for victims in such attacks.

The twin bombings in Mogadishu on Oct. 14 killed at least 358 people and ignited nationwide outrage. Al Shabaab has not claimed responsibility for that attack, but the method – a large truck bomb – is one it has often used.

The militant group wants to overthrow the weak, U.N.-backed government and impose a strict form of Islamic law.

Holder backs ‘main man’ Bishoo to fire again

Posted Posted by Admin in News     Comments Comments Off on Holder backs ‘main man’ Bishoo to fire again
Oct

West Indies captain Jason Holder has called legspinner Devendra Bishoo “the main man” ahead of the second Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. Bishoo’s match haul of 9 for 184 helped West Indies seal a 117-run win in the first Test, and with both games being played at the same ground conditions are once again likely to favour spin bowling.

“The conditions look to be in his favour again, so hopefully we can support him and aid him in being the main man,” Holder said. “The beauty of the way he bowled is also how well the other bowlers supported him. I don’t think he would have been as successful if we’d leaked runs at the other end, so I must give credit to all three seamers too. I think we held things up nicely from the other end and gave him the freedom and liberty to express himself. He was able to come in, settle quite nicely, apply pressure and grab wickets.”

After a quiet tour of England during which he took just three wickets across two Tests, Bishoo’s was a scene-stealing performance and the most recent peak since his return to West Indies’ Test squad in 2015. Since then, Bishoo has 58 wickets from 16 Tests, and could pass 100 Test scalps in the second match against Zimbabwe.

“I thought he was a lot better than previously,” Holder said of Bishoo. “In the past, he’s been really hampered by his starts. I think a lot of teams have tried to get on top of him early and he hasn’t been able to really come back in to the game per se. In this series so far he’s been able to start well, keeping the batsmen honest, keeping them on the front foot and asking really good questions of them. Hopefully if he continues in that vein in this Test match, I’d expect a ten-wicket haul perhaps from Bishoo.”

Bishoo came on as first change in the first innings against Zimbabwe in the first game, taking advantage of the relativeness quickness of the track to take 5 for 79. Bowlers on both sides had to work a lot harder for their wickets as the match wore on and the pitch slowed up.

“As the match progressed, the wicket really slowed down, the spin was a lot slower and you had time to adjust,” Holder explained. “From the second-innings scores from both teams, you could see the pitch became a lot easier to bat on. It’s one those wickets where you’ve really got to knuckle down early on in your innings, absorb as much pressure as possible. Guys like Roston Chase, Shai Hope, Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell showed that if you absorb that pressure, you’re able to cash in.”

Though some unseasonably cold weather set in before the start of the second Test, Holder expected the track being used to play much the same and to retain its dryness. “I don’t think the pitch itself will really change much. I had a look at it, yesterday and today, and it still seems really, really dry. I could expect spinners to have a big impact again.”

Spain sacks Catalan government after independence declaration

Oct

BARCELONA/MADRID (Reuters) – The Madrid government sacked Catalonia’s president and dismissed its parliament on Friday, hours after the region declared itself an independent nation in Spain’s gravest political crisis since the return of democracy four decades ago.

A new regional election will be held in Catalonia on Dec. 21, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said in a televised address on a day of high drama.

As well as removing Carles Puigdemont as head of the autonomous region, he also fired its police chief and said central government ministries would take over the Catalan administration.

“Spain is living through a sad day,” Rajoy said. “We believe it is urgent to listen to Catalan citizens, to all of them, so that they can decide their future and nobody can act outside the law on their behalf.”

As he spoke, thousands of independence supporters packed the Sant Jaume Square in front of the Catalan regional headquarters in Barcelona, their earlier joyful mood somewhat dampened by Rajoy’s actions.

In a stunning show of defiance of Madrid, the Catalan parliament had voted in the afternoon to make a unilateral declaration of independence.

Despite the emotions and celebrations inside and outside the building, it was a futile gesture as shortly afterwards the Spanish Senate in Madrid approved the imposition of direct rule.

Several European countries, including France and Germany, and the United States also rejected the independence declaration and said they supported Rajoy’s efforts to preserve Spain’s unity.

The crisis has now reached a new and possibly dangerous level as independence supporters have called for a campaign of disobedience. Immediately after news of the vote, Spanish shares and bonds were sold off, reflecting business concern over the turmoil.

ALARM AROUND EUROPE

Catalonia held an independence referendum on Oct. 1 which was declared illegal by Madrid and marred by heavy-handed national police tactics to stop it.

Although the referendum endorsed independence, it drew only a 43 percent turnout as Catalans who oppose independence largely boycotted it.

The independence push has caused deep resentment around Spain. The chaos has also prompted a flight of business from Catalonia and alarmed European leaders who fear the crisis could fan separatist sentiment around the continent.

Catalonia is one of Spain’s most prosperous regions and already has a high degree of autonomy. But it has a litany of historic grievances, exacerbated during the 1939-1975 Franco dictatorship, when its culture and politics were suppressed.

In Barcelona, Jordi Mercade, a 32-year-old engineer celebrating with friends, said he had mixed feelings about the day’s events.

“It’s a day for history but many of us here also know we are not independent. They have the force. We are proud to having declared independence but we know this is not something definitive.”

It is not certain whether the new election can resolve the crisis, as it could increase the numbers of independence supporters in parliament.

Also unclear is how Rajoy’s other measures will work on the ground, because of the reactions of civil servants and the regional police, know as the Mossos d‘Esquadra, who are reported to be divided in their loyalties.

The main secessionist group, the Catalan National Assembly, called on civil servants not to follow orders from the Spanish government and urged them to follow “peaceful resistance”.

“Tensions are likely to rise significantly over the coming days,” Antonio Barroso of Teneo Intelligence said in a note.

“Demonstrators might try to prevent the police from removing Catalan ministers from their offices if the central government decides to do so. This increases the risk of violent clashes with the police.”

SHORT-LIVED LIBERTY

A big crowd of independence supporters gathered outside the regional parliament in Barcelona, shouting “Liberty” in Catalan and singing traditional songs as the independence vote went through.

Among them was Monica Sanz, 44, a university lecturer who wore a Catalan flag around her neck.

“We tried all peaceful means. Moderate people have reached this point because it was impossible to make an agreement with Spain,” she said.

The motion, passed after a passionate debate from advocates and opponents of independence, said Catalonia constituted an independent, sovereign and social democratic state.

Lawmakers from members of three national parties – the People’s Party, the Socialists and Ciudadanos – walked out before the vote. Members of the pro-independence parties and the far-left Podemos then voted 70-10 in favour, in a secret ballot aimed at hindering any attempt by Madrid to lay criminal charges on them.

The soon-to-be-sacked Puigdemont left the chamber to shouts of “President!” and mayors who had come from outlying areas brandished their ceremonial batons and sang the Catalan anthem “Els Segadors” (The Reapers).

“Catalonia is and will be a land of freedom. In times of difficulty and in times of celebration. Now more than ever”, Puigdemont said on Twitter.

But within an hour, the upper house of Spain’s parliament in Madrid authorised Rajoy’s government to rule Catalonia directly. Spain’s constitutional court started a review of the vote for prosecutors to decide if its constituted rebellion.

In Brussels, the president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said the independence vote changed nothing and the EU would only deal with the central government.

Spain’s IBEX fell as much 2.1 percent to a four-day low during the day, 10-year government bond yields hit a day high, and the euro dipped against the dollar on Friday after the Catalan independence declaration. The region contributes about a fifth of Spain’s economy, the fourth-largest in the eurozone.

JP Morgan said that due to the unceratinty, it was lowering its forecast for Spain’s GDP for the last quarter of 2017 and first of 2018 to below the 3.5 per cent seen so far this year.

  • iPhone 5s
  • iPhone SE
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad Air
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad mini 3
  • iPad mini 2
  • iPad Pro
  • iPod Touch (6th Generation)

This is it for now, folks. What are your thoughts on the new Saïgon jailbreak? Would you be giving it a swing? Share your views with us in the comments.

Two men claim Stokes saved them from homophobic attack

Two men have reportedly come forward to support the claim made by Ben Stokes in the wake of his arrest on suspicion of actual bodily harm last month, namely that he was acting in defence of two companions following a homophobic attack.

According to a report in The Sun, two gay men, Kai Barry, 26, and Billy O’Connell, 20, have come forward to praise Stokes for his actions, having met the England allrounder on a night out in Bristol in the wake of England’s ODI victory over West Indies on September 24.

The development followed two appeals from Avon and Somerset Police following the incident outside Mbargo nightclub, the second of which went into detail about the build and hair colour of the two witnesses, who were seen leaving the scene shortly before Stokes’ arrest at 2.35am.

O’Connell told the newspaper: “We were so grateful to Ben for stepping in to help. He was a real hero.

“Kai feared he could be attacked. If Ben hadn’t intervened it could have been a lot worse for us.”

Barry added: “I’m not a fighter and we didn’t want a fight. We could’ve been in real trouble. Ben was a real gentleman.”

Stokes has been unavailable for England selection since the incident, along with his team-mate Alex Hales, who was also present at the scene but was not arrested.

Stokes was initially named as England vice-captain for the upcoming Ashes, but was withdrawn from the squad earlier this month, pending further investigation.

Lower gold prices fail to spark post-Diwali lull in demand

BENGALURU/MUMBAI (Reuters) – The physical gold market remained quiet in most Asian centres this week despite a drop in prices with India witnessing a lull in fresh purchases as key festival season demand cooled off in the world’s second biggest consumer.

Gold prices in India slipped to 29,209 rupees per 10 grams on Friday, the lowest level in about two months.

Prices in India were at a premium of up to $3 an ounce over official domestic prices this week, up from $2 last week. The slight increase in premiums was due to traders looking to cover for purchases made when rates were higher.

“After Diwali, demand falters every year. This year, even during Diwali demand was lower than usual,” said Daman Prakash Rathod, a director at MNC Bullion, a wholesaler in Chennai.

Last week, Indians celebrated the Diwali and Dhanteras festivals, when buying bullion is considered auspicious.

“Jewellers have to replenish inventory after Diwali sales. Since prices are falling, they will do it very slowly,” said a Mumbai-based dealer with a private bank.

“In the last few days the government was selling gold bonds. Some investors are giving preference to bonds over physical gold due to tax benefits.”

Meanwhile, benchmark spot gold prices were headed for an about 1 percent weekly decline, having hit a near three-month low of $1,264.15 on Friday.

The drop in rates, however, failed to reignite interest for gold in most Asian hubs.

“In Singapore, several businesses in the region referred to as ‘Little India’ have said that the festival sales were not great and that it had come down when compared to the Diwali season in the last two years,” said Brian Lan, managing director at dealer GoldSilver Central in Singapore.

“Physical demand didn’t really pick up despite lower prices. While we did have businesses and individuals calling us today due to the price drop, prices had been stagnant for the rest of the week.”

Premiums of 50 cents were being charged over the benchmark in Singapore this week, unchanged from the previous week, while in Hong Kong, they rose to the 60 cents to $1.30 range, as against 50 cents last week.

“There are sporadic large transactions, by buyers who take advantage of the price level and the low premiums, but overall, the market is quiet,” said Joshua Rotbart, managing partner of J. Rotbart Co in Hong Kong.

In top consumer China, premiums of $6.5-$10 an ounce were being charged over the benchmark, compared with $8-$12 in the previous week.

“There has been some amount of buying in China,” said Ronald Leung, chief dealer at Lee Cheong Gold Dealers in Hong Kong. He, however, said there seems to be a shift toward stocks rather than gold in terms of investments.

In Japan, gold continued to be sold flat versus the benchmark due to a lack of momentum in local rates.
