Sunny Deol rescues a woman who was sold as slave

Sunny Deol has been very well balancing his life both as an actor as well as a politician. While he is always in limelight for his films and upcoming directorial projects, this week he made the headlines for his political deeds.

The actor, who is a BJP MP from Gurdaspur in Punjab, helped a 45-years old woman return home from Kuwait after she was sold as a slave. She was reportedly sold to a Pakistani man by a travel agent who had conned her into believing that he would help her land a housekeeping job for a salary of Rs 30,000 per month.

Sunny not only intervened after coming to know about the incident, he also contacted the ministry of external affairs and, following a swift operation, Bedi was brought back home on Friday.

Proud father Dharmendra was all praise for the son who took to his social media handles to appreciate his good work.

Karan Johar acquires Hindi rights of ‘Dear Comrade’

The Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s Telugu hit, Arjun Reddy’ as ‘Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor became one of the highest grosser at the box-office. After its super success, filmmaker Karan Johar has now acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Telugu actor’s recently released film, ‘Dear Comrade’, which is also garnering positive reviews from both the audience and the critics alike.

According to reports, KJo has acquired the Hindi remake rights of the same by shelling out a whopping of Rs 6 crore. This is apparently highest ever paid for the rights of a south film.

The report stated that along with Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Vijay Galani were also bidding. However, it was Karan Johar who got the rights in a whopping of Rs. 6 crore. Reportedly, no remake rights of a South film have ever been sold for such an amount.

Although various names like Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter are making rounds for the lead of the film, Johar recently clarified that no actor has been approached for the film as yet.

Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades name their baby boy ‘Arik Rampal’


Arjun Rampal and Gabrielle Demetriades became proud parents to their bundle of joy on July 18 and ever since the two have been on cloud nine. Right after a week after the birth of his son, Arjun took to his Instagram handle to share an adorable picture of his bundle of joy along with a heartfelt post.

In the post, he revealed the name of his little man as, Arik Rampal. Sharing a picture of his tiny hands holding his finger, the actor wrote, ‘That gracious thing made of tears, of happiness, gratitude and light. A rainbow appeared into our lives. So blessed we feel, gratitude and abundance of joy. Welcome junior Rampal, into our lives. Thank you all for your graciousness, love and beautiful wishes. Say hello to baby Arik Rampal. #ArikRampal’

When Bollywood celebs reacted to cruelty towards a dog in Mumbai

Sonam K Ahuja took to her Instagram handle to bring her followers’ attention to an incident of cruelty towards a stray dog that happened in Worli, Mumbai. The dog was apparently beaten up mercilessly for taking shelter in a building during heavy rains.

After Sonam shared it on social media, many other Bollywood celebs not only condemned the unfortunate incident but also took it on themselves to spread the word.

The incident happened on July 24 when a resident, Mr Bhatia, of the second floor of Turf View building, next to Vitesse Showroom, Nehru Planetarium in Worli, instructed the watchman to beat up the dog in such a manner that no other animal dared to enter the premises of the building.

The watchmen, upon being instructed, hit the dog ruthlessly and left it to suffer in pain in the society’s compound.

After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the Bombay Animal Rights on July 27 lodged an FIR with the Worli police against the two accused, Mr Bhatia and the security guard of the building, under IPC Sections 429 and 34. But in no time the two men were granted bail and were released.

Sanjay Dutt launches the much-awaited teaser of ‘Prasthanam’

Remakes have become the order of the day in Bollywood. And the recent ones to join the bandwagon of south remakes is Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming film, ‘Prasthanam’. The actor launched the teaser of the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit by the same name.

The actor plays a politician in the film along with actors like Ali Fazal, Manisha Koirala, Amyra Dastur and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles.

‘Prasthanam’, produced by Maanayata Dutt, the political drama is being directed by Deva Katta, who has written and directed the original film too.

The film is all set to hit the theatres on September 20, 2019.

Makers of ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ accused of plagiarism

If all the controversies surrounding the Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ was not enough, the makers of the film were recently accused of plagiarism for copying a design for one of their posters.

A Hungarian artiste named, Flora Borsi has accused the makers of plagiarism over a new poster of the film which features a cat juxtaposed on Kangana Ranaut’s face. A similar poster of Rajkummar Rao along with a rat is also under the radar. Taking to her social media handle, the artiste accused the makers of plagiarising her art. She also shared the original art where a black cat has been juxtaposed on a girl’s face. She also claimed that the makers of the film neither asked for her permission nor reached out to her.

The makers of the Prakash Kovelamudi directorial have not yet reacted on the accusations.

Govinda’s sensational statements

Actor Govinda recently hit the headlines after making some sensational statements on a popular chat show. Talking about the big films he has rejected in his past, Govinda claimed that he was offered a role in James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ but he rejected the offer as he knew it would take seven years for the project to get completed and he was averse to the use of paint for the film.

In another of his bizarre claims, Govinda stated that he was also offered the role of Chunni Lal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The role was originally played by Jackie Shroff.

Govinda also claimed that he was offered Anil Sharma’s ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, however he did not take up the project as the script had a lot of swear words in it.

All of the actor’s sensational revelations soon became the butt of joke on the internet and set off a meme train on the social media.

Bollywood stars’ drugs controversy

Karan Johar recently hosted a party for his close friends which was attended by the likes of Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Ayan Mukerji and others.

The video that Karan posted on July 28 went viral and it gained eye balls when on July 30, a minister from India political party Shiromani Akali Dal, Majinder Sirsa shared the video, calling it ‘Udta Bollywood’. He pointed out how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunted their drugged state.

While the accused actors are yet to respond, but Congress politician Milind Deora, whose wife was also at the party, tweeted in support of the celebs and the party.

While many, along with Milind Deora, demanded an unconditional apology to the Bollywood stars for his accusations, Sirsa has not only refused to apologise but has also demanded that the celebs he has accused undergo a dope test to prove him wrong.

Now, an open letter has been posted by an unverified Twitter account for Karan Johar by the name of ‘NotKangana’.

Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha announce their separation

In what came as a shocker to the entire Bollywood fraternity, actress Dia Mirza announced her separation with her husband Sahil Sangha on August 1 through her social media handles. She shared that they have mutually decided to separate. However, they will continue to remain friends. She also thanked her family and friends for their support and love. She also emphasised that they both won’t be talking to the media about this matter any further and requested them to respect their privacy.

Sahil and Dia got married in October 2014 after reportedly dating for six long years.

Dia Mirza rubbishes reports of Sahil Sangha’s affair with Kanika Dhillon

Hours after Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha announced their separation on social media, writer Kanika Dhillon announced that she too has parted ways with her husband Prakash Kovelamudi. She also explained that they had separated two years ago in 2017.

Reports were rife that the separation of Sahil-Dia and Kanika-Prakash had a connection. The report also suggested that Sahil’s closeness with Kanika has led to his separation with Dia.

No sooner did the reports surfaced, both Kanika and Dia rubbished them. While Dia stated that no third person is the reason for Sahil and her to part ways, Kanika argued that she has never met Sahil and Dia in her entire life.
