Good news to iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak anticipators, iOS 12 running on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR has just been compromised.

Miami Morning Star hinted that two researchers recently revealed that they finally managed to exploit the vulnerabilities of iOS 12.1.2. Using the Port-Oriented Programming (POP) attack, they made it pass through the all 2018 iPhones such as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR’s manufacturing restrictions.

Min Zheng and Xialong Bai, researchers posted on Twitter that they finally managed to obtain the root access on all 2018 iPhone releases. The Twitter post which was seen on January 15 continues to gain likes and be flooded with comments iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak optimistic and pessimistic alike as of this writing.

The researchers’ work posted on Twitter reveals that it will be very easy for the researchers to develop an iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak. This is primarily because it will be easy for them to bypass the as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR’s PAC system.

Their work also opens a door for hope in finding potential vulnerabilities in the A12 Bionic chip. Once they succeed in doing so, then an iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak is indeed on its way.

However, there is still no assurance that an iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak will be coming out soon. Anticipators will have to keep their fingers crossed as there are a few factors preventing for an iOS Jailbreak to take place.

First, despite the idea that the iPhone 2018 releases’ PAC system can be compromised, exploits done with iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR are not revealed in public. It might be, but not anytime soon.

Second, Apple patches each newly discovered vulnerability in their next iOS update by gathering reports from researchers themselves as there are some security researchers that even report their findings directly to Apple. This gives the Cupertino tech giant an assurance that their iPhones are safe from unlocking.

The third is that users who are waiting for an iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak have become lesser due to the higher risk that is associated in Jailbreaking. The process has become more complex which made the process riskier as Apple increased their effort to reduce if not completely eliminate the Jailbreaking.

Apple released a statement that there is still no Jailbreak in the latest version of iOS. The Giant seemed confident knowing that they have created the most recent iOS update as a robust and security free one, according to The PPLWare.
